How It Works
We have a quick overview chat about your business, any challenges you're facing, or areas you want to grow into
I'll take a look at your books to get a ground-level view of what's happening and where things stand from an accounting perspective
If it feels like a good fit, we'll agree on a monthly cost that makes sense for the both of us
Then, I get to work! Depending on the situation, that could be an overhaul of the books, brainstorming new systems, or building out reports that give you a quick snapshot of where you stand
About Me

When I was 11, my parents handed me a book called Money Skills for Teens. They said, "We've never been great with money, but we're hoping you can be better than us." From page one, I was hooked, and it set a foundation that ended up shaping my career.
What started as a simple envelope system for separating "spending cash" from "saving cash" eventually led to business school, then into a career in accounting and finance. I spent time working with nonprofits and universities before moving into the private sector, first in service businesses, then in physical goods.
A few years ago, a happenstance conversation at a backyard party changed my trajectory. I met the founders of Mission Ranch, a local video production company. They didn't need a full-time finance person, but they understood the value of having someone focused on the money side of their business. I started helping them in the evenings and over the weekends, and after a while, more businesses started reaching out.
Over time, I realized this was the work I enjoyed most: partnering directly with small business owners who care deeply about what they're building.
I'm not a jack of all trades…ask me to render a 3D animation or frame a house, and I wouldn't know where to start. But I love getting a peek at different industries, being exposed to new things, and helping passionate people make sense of their numbers so they can focus on what they do best.
Founders who are fantastic at their craft aren't always thrilled about building spreadsheets, troubleshooting Quickbooks, or figuring out why their cash flow feels off. That's where I come in. Some examples from this year include:
- Cleaning up 12 months of back-logged books, leading to over $10,000 in tax savings for the owner
- Revamping a job costing system to keep track of construction projects on a monthly basis
- Helping spin off a company's department into a separate entity, and then navigating cash flow as the bank reserves get built back up
The partnership looks different for every client, but I love the variety it brings and the ability to come alongside different teams as they build something exciting.
I typically work with founders running companies in the $500k-$5M revenue range, across industries including creative studios, general contractors, health & wellness practices, and professional services firms.
